Toys for Tots, founded in 1947 by the United States Marine Corps, has distributed more than 272 million toys to 133 million children throughout the country. The local Marine Corps Reserve Unit in Norfolk has kicked off the 2004 "Toys for Tots" Campaign. This is the 58th year for the Toys for Tots Program. Each year, thousands of under-privileged children in the Tidewater Area, who would not otherwise have received a toy, benefit from the Toys for Tots Program.
The Tidewater Division has proudly donated electric and wooden train sets to this program over the past four years.
In 2001 the Division donated through the help of Davis Hobby Supplies $1000.00 worth of electric train sets for Toys for Tots.
